Finally we present a concert again which will nearly completely be focussed on a cappella with a deep dive into the depra... the favourite past times of composers from the Renaissance to the 20th century.
The music is ranged, featuring Lassus and Purcell - who when they were not busy composing for Cathedrals showed their versatility by composing for the pub.
The "Renaissance Man" was not the only one who knew how to live, so we span 400 years of music even up to 1930s and 1980s with numbers by the Comedian Harmonists and the stranglers.
Philosophical treaties on tobacco from the profane to the profound are gratiously provided by Bach, East and anonymous.
In this ideal world, the recurring theme of drink does miraculously not incapacitate the ability to sing about dancing, love making and wooing which should make for an exciting and varied program truly befitting to welcome the summer!
