We are the Oriel Singers

Choir

The Oriel Singers are a dynamic, mixed voice classical choir based in Liverpool, England with a membership of about 25 voices. We attract members from a wide variety of backgrounds who enjoy singing together.

We were founded at the Liverpool City Church (St Nick's) in 1977 as the Gerald Brown Singers. We moved our rehearsal venue to Holy Trinity Church Wavertree in early 2026, mainly as a result of Liverpool City Council introducing evening parking charges.

We work towards Spring, Summer and Autumn concerts in addition to a varied Christmas program. Some of our previous performances are listed here: Read More

Musical Director

Our Musical Director, Rüdiger Ruwe, joined us in 2024.

Rudy studied music with a focus on Oratory and Lied at the Hochschulke für Musik und Theater Hamburg. He started his full time musical career in the UK in 2023. During his studies and during his first career as a software engineer, he already gathered valuable experience as a choral conductor, educator, soloist and ensemble singer.

Previous Musical Directors

The Oriel Singers have been blessed by engaging with a multitude of highly skilled MDs over the years.
